DU_man_84
im kinda curious about it also, ive been looking at it also
Ohiobucks
I was looking at one and someone mentioned that since the bar went directly under the seat it was not the most comfortable thing in the world. I really like the fact that it is only 14lbs though. Not a very good trade off IMO, light and portable for comfort....
fly
I bought one last season and have used it extensively. It's by far my favorite tree stand, but it is not the most comfortable stand to sit in for long periods of time. However, I walk miles to hunt and grew sick of lugging around ladders and hang-ons. I researched climbing stands a lot last year and chose the open-shot (It's a lot cheaper than the lone-wolf light climber, and I liked the design better than the light loggy bayou climber).God has blessed me with a good back, and good health. When I get uncomfortable I stand or shift sitting positions and I can stay in it all day if need be. However, the biggest drawback for me is the length of the platform. It's pretty short which makes taking a shot at a deer that is behind you a little difficult. With practice I was able to get used to it.Like I said I love mine and can hunt from as high as I like now. The stand has great gripping teeth providing excellent stability. I also like the rapid climb stirups and the ease of packing and set up. Once i have sawed any small braches from the trunk I can be set up (harness and all) 30 feet high in about 10 minutes. If only they would add 2 inches to the platform (I'd accept an additional pound or two) it would be perfect from my viewpoint. I'm 6 ft. tall and 200lbs.In the picture you'll see the stand in the background.
HUNTINGMAN
I looked at all climbing stands last year,I used my nephews summit and liked it but it wasnt for me.I tried the lone wolf and it fit me and my style of hunting perfectly, they may be expensive but you get what you pay for. Tecumseh
Thanks guys, given the issue with the bar under the seat I'm opting for the Summit Bushmaster stand.I have two Cobra extremes but this one will be nice for the hike to a spot I'm hunting this year and have to climb up a steep ridge to get to it. dbHunterNY
I'm a little late, but the bushmaster is good too. I've used the openshot for a season now and like it a lot, for a climber. The bushmaster, I believe, is the same except for the seat. I couldn't find one as readily as the openshot though. I'm 6' tall and noticed the platform isn't too big, but if you can position in a tree sloping backward, you'll feel settled in quit nice. It's very quiet and will allow you to get up the tree rather quickly. I haven't figured out how to carry it and my backpack in the woods at the same time, but I have a wrap around the waste style pack that has been working well with it. I think you'll like it a lot. - Dan

Adjam5
If you do a lot of bow hunting take a hard look at the Summit Broadhead backpacker. It has a open front which I LOVE for bow hunting. I draw and shoot most times sitting down. The seat is very comfortable, I have sat all day in it. Easy to put together and fairly light too. I think it is about 20 lbs or so. It fold flat on your back to carry, no big triangles to tote around. AND....Its a Summit. I have seen them for sale in the $200- 240 range
