1997xltlimited
ok, going to buy the hs strut undertaker turkey choke. I have noticed there is a few different models. One was ported, one was the plus that came with a sight, it was a little longer and one was much shorter said heavyshot? Which one should I be looking at? they are all about he same price
Adjam5
The gun should already be ported from the factory, so additional porting would serve no purpose. Go with the Undertaker with no porting. Good Luck!
1997xltlimited
Undertaker I am pretty sure this is an old model? but found it for 12 bucks on clearance shelf, is it worth it to buy the newer model for 20? I dont want the sights with it just the choke. http://www.freddiebearsports.com/products.asp?product=2921&cat=N
Adjam5
Thats the one I have and use...no sights on it. These are the 835's I own. They have factory chokes on them in the pic. One is 28" and the other is 24"... big difference.
1997xltlimited
so the sights can be taken off correct? what is the difference between that one and a newer model without the sights?
Adjam5
If you take that sight ring off of the choke, there might be a space between the choke threads end and the knurl of the choke. If that is the only choke you can get, use it. Just spin the sight portion down and out of the way. The Undertaker is a great tube and you will be happy with it. I have had mine for many years and a bunch of gobblers have fell to it.
1997xltlimited
they have the newer models without the sights as well. Should I just buy that one?
Adjam5
If you do not need the sight model, then don't buy it. The sights come on the gun. Keep a light coat of oil on the threads of the choke tube too.

1997xltlimited
more questions do I want a heavy shot-high denisty turkey choke dia .705 or do i want a lead-cooper plated one dia. 695 pros-cons of each? dont know anything about them thanks
Adjam5
There is not much difference. Your talkin' 10/10,000ths of an inch. I don't think you'll notice the difference. Heavy shot is better for larger small game like yotes, but it works wonders on turkey also I am told. It also is like 3-4X the price of standard copper plated turkey shot. You need to decide on how deep you wish to dig for turkey loads. The object of all turkey shooting is to get as many pellets in the kill zone. The larger the opening of the choke, the larger the pattern will be. The heavy shot chokes most likely are the ones that handle the newer heavier shot without any damage to the choke tube or threads. I like my Turkey chokes .695 and smaller.
