beagleboy
For those who don't see eye-to-eye with their in-laws, or as I call them "out-laws" how do you usually get out of Sunday dinner with the "out-laws."

Tominator
Get them to move about 500 miles away. That's what I did. Actually, I get along with mine OK, even though my mother-in-law is the queen of weird.

stevebeilgard
since you don't see eye to eye, find and talk only about stuff you know that they like. their house. their car. their daughter. and stay far, far away from stuff they may not like, such as politics. keep it civil for a few hours, then go home. BowJoe
My mother in law is insane, so I don't have to worry about seeing her anymore. She lives in Marion and we live in Benton which is 20 miles away. We haven't talked to her in almost a year. She blames her kids for everything that's ever happened to her and she even blackmailed her son, stole 3 pair of diamond earrings from her oldest daughter and threatened to call DCFS on us saying we're unfit parents. She's given us more than enough reasons to stay away. I've been happier ever since.
Shawn
im getting married this sept but i guess im lucky. Melissa's father Glen is a huge hunter like me so we always have something to talk about. Her mother is always cool to talk to also.
beagleboy
I swallowed my pride and went to the in-laws for dinner. Since I've been home recovering from back surgery, my wife has taken very good care of me and I wouldn't want to see her upset for not going. I think I did the right thing.
