Left church this morning and went to swing by the store on the way home. There's a smallish creek along the road about a mile before we get to the store where my daughter ikes to look for ducks or geese or whatever waterfowl might be hanging out. So we're coming up on the area where the creek swings close the road and we're looking for ducks. I notice 100 yards or so down the creek a 1/2 dozen or so crows dive-bombing this bird with white on it. I'm just about to tell my daughter "look at the seagull" when I focus a bit more and realize the white is on a mature bald eagle. I slid the truck off the road (at about 60 mph0 and got the windows down so we could all get a good look. He was quite low compared to where you usually see eagles. We watched him for a couple minutes swooping around amongst the crows. VERY COOL dude to see. Not that coomon of an occurrence in this area.

Wow, that is cool! i know, we don't have many up here, but they are around. I saw one up in the Adirondacks, way up in the sky, couple years back. then once when mom and I were driving in to PA, somewhere around theb order I'm sure it was an eagle I saw in the sky. We also have an eagle nest not too far from where I live, one of my professors from my first college showed me it.

Cool! :) I've seen a couple at Crooked Creek State park and they are cool to see...

I'm only 20 air miles or so from Crooked Creek S.P. Actually right on the backwaters of the Keystone Power Dam. There's usually a few eagles go through here and hang out for a spell each year. It's just a question of who's gonna be the lucky ones to get a look at them.

My wife's uncle saw both a bald and a golden (VERY uncommon here in PA) while he was goose hunting at Keystone a month or so ago.

That's pretty cool Don! Yeah they're very rare to see here in eastern Ontario too, my uncle is a trapper and is in the bush quite a bit. He sees the odd bald or golden eagle from time to time. I saw two balds when I was in Wisconsin, and one golden here in Ontario. Talk about some BIG birds.:cool:

We do a lot of fishing on the other end of your province.........north of Ignace. We see gobs of eagles and eagle nests out there.

That is pretty cool Don. I've seen a few on the Clarion, and one last summer on the Allegheny just south of Ford City. That's the closest I've seen one to this neck of the woods. I'll have to keep my eye out next time I'm up by Keystone.

Oughta get up there & take your binos, John. I saw it again tonite. It was way high and I didn't get a close look ....but it was still the eagle. ;)
