OJR
I will vote for them in a heartbeat! There is NOTHING lower than what will be on the other ticket!!
Texan_Til_I_Die
I think a McCain/Lieberman ticket is a disaster looking for a place to happen. That has the potential to alienate the conservative base and possibly spawn a 3rd party protest candidate that would siphon off a lot of votes from the republicans. McCain needs to select someone with good conservative credentials, executive experience (like a state governor), no scandals, preferably young, and from a blue or swing state. wtnhunt
Got to agree with Mike here, although you really never know. Just because they were shown together in a way that may appear to some that they would run together does not mean it is a done deal, would hope McCain or someone advising him would have enough sense to know that Lieberman as a running mate for him would be a very bad move. johnf
McCain/Rice McCain/Powell McCain/Huckabee McCain/Gingrich Down about 100 more McCain/Lieberman These two guys are cut from the same mold. I would rather see McCain with a real conservative that would balance out the ticket. McCain is at the center and just has a little more weight on his right foot. Texan_Til_I_Die
Any other year, I think Rice would have a good shot at being offered the VP spot, but with the Dems running either Obama or Clinton, I don't think Rice would be as strong a candidate. The Republicans would have to spend the first half of the race fending off the "me too" accusations for running a black woman against either a black or a woman. Similar problem with Jeb Bush. If his name wasn't Bush, he'd be at the top of the list for VP choices. Now don't get me wrong, I think either Rice or J. Bush would make an excellent VP (or President for that matter), I just don't think they would necessarily make good candidates.
