Turkeygirl
I wanted to check about this before I order. When I was in Dick's Sporting Goods Monday, I found a Weaver mount for my gun for a scope. They had a TruGlo Red Dot and I took the mount over to compare and make sure the things that hook into the slots on the mount would fit...well looking at it, this Weaver mount, the slots were too far apart on the mount for the Red Dot to fit. So on MidWayUSA.com, I found this that I think will work, but wanted to ask you for sure, will it fit a TruGlo Red Dot?: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=170944 This was under post 1996 Mossberg 500's and I'm assuming my Mossberg 500 Super Bantam is a post 1996 model? Ambuscher
LOL I just cut an extra slot so the scope would mount up. Too cheap to go out and buy another mount, so I just fixed up what I had.
joetex25
Turkeygirl: After reading enough tidbits on forums from folks that have used them, and then TruGlo reviews by both Cabelas and Bass Pro consumers, I bought the TruGlo Red Dot and a Weaver base for my 835. I'm sure there are other bases that will work also, but from what others indicated, the Weaver would work fine; and it has. Although it was only put on a couple of weeks ago, quite a bit of shooting has taken place since then. It was very easy to sight in, and after that it was just a matter of determining which load to go with, since I also changed chokes at the same time. I'm sure you will enjoy it, and good luck this year! Joe
4Blade
The red dot scope should fit that base without any problems......... :D
Turkeygirl
Thanks guys...I was just concerned with the TruGlo fitting in the scope base...because the actual Weaver brand one, it didn't look like it would fit, then I saw the one at Midway, which I thought would work because the notches are closer.
