Guest bhagan92
This year I would like to get into filming most if not all of my hunting adventures. I do a lot of hunting with my family on our private land. Over the last year we have been transforming the property adding food plots and just making it a better environment for the wildlife. That leads me to my question- Is there a specific camcorder out there that anyone could recommend? I am looking for something that will give me HD capable recording and will be at least able to zoom in over 100 yrds. Any help would be greatly appreciated seeing Turkey season is right around the corner. Thanks.
wtnhunt
Welcome to the forums. Really think it depends on what you are willing to spend. Have heard good reviews on the canon gl2.
Guest bhagan92
I would like to keep the price tag under $2000 and have as close to professional type quality as possible. Thanks for the response.

lungbuster12point06
Under $2000 but HD and pro-sumer????????? Not likely, but you can get a number of HD consumer cams for less than $2k........If you do not need HD, check out the Canon GL2 or Sony VX2100............for alittle more $$$$$$ and alot more camera you can get a Panasonic DVX100b for less than $2500 and have excellent broadcast picture quality footage (the cam i use) or look to spend around $3400 for a quality HD camera such as the Canon XH A1 or over $4k for the Sony V1U..................whatever you go with, you want to look at optical zoom never digital.........easy of use of the manual controls and learn all of the camera's functions inside and out. Good luck.

scotman
I was looking for cameras myself and found this site. www.campbellcameras.com Pretty good site to check out Yea I heard the same thing about them. This is a good site too http://www.huntingfootage.com/forums/index.php?. bhagan92 It all depends how far you plan on taking videography and what you will be doing with the video. I agree with wtnhunt the gl2 is a really good camera from what im hearing, its only sd capable though. But if your only doing this for personal use is hd all that necessary? You still will get high quality video with sd.
