Guest Smitty
I am currently cunducting an audit for NIPSCO and AT&T around Merrillville, IN. Sometime around the end of June I will be moving over to the IL-IA state line to start another audit. This job will last for several months. Its hard to imagine being a die-hard bowhunter in one of the best bowhunting areas in the US. I have emailed at least 15-20 outfitters in IL about a bowhunt, and so far I have gotten one response. I have $1200 to spend, and a shot at a 120" deer would be just fine with me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email me if you have any leads. I also need a good 3D range to shoot my bow. Thanks for any help with this.
Tominator
Might want to post this in the bow room too bud. Seems to me, (not totally positive), but I don't think $1,200 is going to get you too much in today's Illinois market. Give LLBUX a PM, he might be able to help you out. Arnie used to do semi guided hunts in Greene county. Ohiobucks and I hunted with him a few years ago. Top notch guy for sure.
fly
You will likely find IL. outfitters charging 1200.00 or less (perhaps those were the ones you sent e-mails to and didn't get responses)? Personally I would either go to a reputable outfitter http://ciohunt.com/packages/ and shell out the cash, or I'd just plan and conduct the hunt myself. $1200.00 is a lot of many to take a chance with! Some other members might be able to list outfitters in IL that are reputable? I've never used one. Pyramid state park (Southern IL) would be where I would concentarte my "do it yourself" bow hunting efforts at. There is a lot of public hunting ground and not a lot of bow hunting pressure. In addition they restrict the antler size for harvested bucks.
