RangerClay
My best friend just bought his boy (my Godson) a new gun, his first .22. He got a Ruger 10/22 with a Realtree synthetic stock. I said I would get him a sling for the gun as a birthday gift. But then I got to thinking about how to attach the swivels to the stock. I'm a woodworker and a wood stock is no problem but the walls of these synthetic stocks can be awful thin. Is there a little more material near the butt plate? I'm going to look at it tomorrow, can you give me a little insight before he arrives. How does one attach the swivels to the butt stock of a synthetic stock? bluelund79
Great question. I thought they already came with the rear stud, it has been so long since I got my Ruger .22. I would assume that a slow speed drill or a hand drill would keep from splitting the stock. Did the rifle at least come with the stud and crush washer? Wish I could be of more help, but if my memory serves me right, that stock is pretty rigid on those. Good luck and have fun shooting with your godson....
