EKYhunter
Hey guys, I got a B-Mobile Saturday and put a real fan in it yesterday. I like this decoy and can see it being a useful tool. I was just wondering if anyone has done any modifications to this decoy such as re-painting the head, trimming the beard, etc. Thanks! EKYhunter
Cool. Nice gobbler. Have you tried a real fan in yours? I ask because I wonder if there is a difference in the response of the birds?
The Kid
yes i modified my tail a lot, if you watch the dvd that comes with it you will notice that the fan moves from left to right on their hunts. So on my decoy I glued a wooden dowel in the hole that goes up and down on the back of the turkey, and then i just put two zip ties on the middle feather and it just slides over the dowel.. it takes some slight ajustments but I got it to look really good. So instead of the fan moving up and down it moves from left to right just like a gobbler in real life how he angles his fan towards the hen.. EKYhunter
Got any pictures? Are you saying that you can move the fan if you have a bird responding or that you can simply pick which angle you want when you set up the decoy? The Kid
i don't have any pictures but if you set it up right the the fan with go back and forth on its own.
Guest bowhunter_24
Oh man I took the fake fan off, put a real fan from a gobbler that i killed last year and his beard.. I took the fake beard out of "BILL" as we call our B mobile and put the 10 inch beard which i trimmed down to about six in to replace it... All you need is a hot glue gun... I also made the head a little more red with an airbrush... Just slightly over the top and sides... Bill looks so much more realistic than he did before the modifications. EKYhunter
Thanks! That's the kind of info I was looking for concerning these decoys. Anyone else have any ideas/suggestions?

Ethan Givan
I totally repainted the head on my decoy. Painted his neck, waddles, and the back of his head bright red, then the top and sides of his head white and light blue. He looks alot more realistic now. willfish03
the one thing i added is a jerk line. i loosened the stake nut, using a 2ft length of bunji cord attached to a tent stake on one end,an old fly line and reel to the other, attached it to the base of the breast with a 6 inch tag line. i also bring along a few landscape staples to keep the line close to the ground . it has worked very well for me. the fly reel stores easily in the body for easy carrying.
