Master_Chief
OK XM and SIRIUS have been given Justice Department to merge. That leaves only one Satellite radio provider for the country. If I was Bill Gates I would be livid. Sure sounds like this is a Government approved monolopy. Gates has been raked over the coals for what I consider BS. Don't want MS products there are options. Not with Satellite Radio now. The government needs to stay out of private business. They just goof it up.

wtnhunt
Heard about this on the news yesterday, do not know if it will be like the merger that was supposed to take place with direct and dish a few years back, but obviously that one never happened. Do not know about xm, but we have sirius radio in our new suv, and I am pretty disappointed. With country music we have better choices, or rather more options with local fm stations, and the music is not uninterrupted as is suggested either. We will not likely renew after the free year's subscription is done.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Theoretically, it should result in lower long term costs to the consumer, since both systems can now use much of the same hardware. I'll have to take a wait and see attitude on that. The Justice Department's logic in saying that this didn't create a monopoly was based on the premise that satellite radio was in competition with AM and FM broadcasts. OJR
I have it in my '07 Colorado and when the 90 day free option expired, I never renewed it and don't miss it!
Dubie
Never had the urge to get satelite radio. If the radio station is boring, I have CD's....
