VermontHunter
Being somewhat new to the forums most if not all of you may not know that I'm a HUGE hockey fan and have a quite extensive Autographed collection. Anyhow this is what I would like to do if there is a favoring response to this idea.....( I have TONS of LeClair stuff the wife went to school with him ) I have a real nice and expensive Certified Autogaphed card of Leclair that I would like to auction off with the proceeds either going to Norm Sauceman or the DHNA this would depend on what you all think. This is what the card looks like.... If this is a go maybe I can talk buckee in hosting the auction.....
horst
Re: Suggestions on an Idea VH, I dont know much about hockey or what the cards worth but its a good idea, I just hope it goes for what its valued at.Have you considered auctioning it on Ebay or something where you can set a reserve price on it, That way the proceeds could still go to Norm and youd know you wouldnt be giving it away for free.just an idea, unless theres a bunch of hockey fans in here that want to bid on it. VermontHunter
Re: Suggestions on an Idea Ebay charges for sales of Items...Im sure we could set a starting price that was fair to everyone...I'm not real concerned about letting the card go for under what it is worth as long as it produces some helpful community support here in the forum... Norm Sauceman
Re: Suggestions on an Idea That IS awesome!!! The charge that EBay charges in not very much as I have had to auction things off there as well. Plus about a billion more people will get the opportunity to bid on it... It just amazes me how generous you folks are.. You would have to put a reserve on the item(s) to make sure it gets what it is worth...that way, if it does not sell for the value, nothing is lost but a dollar or two. BE SURE to set a reserve!! Thank you so much!!!!!!

VermontHunter
Re: Suggestions on an Idea Seems you need to set up a selling account with ebay, which I don't have but if someone does and is willing to host this sale by all means let me know... VermontHunter
Re: Suggestions on an Idea Hhmmm.....Seems to me with 108 review's of this thread that I would have gotten a better response, OH Well I guess there's not as many Hockey Lover's I thought there was...It was an idea anyhow... GWSmith
Re: Suggestions on an Idea VH, Sorry man...I did most of my growing up in Florida...I dont know Jack about hockey. VermontHunter
Re: Suggestions on an Idea I know exactly what the card is worth accordding to Beckett, $150.00. But I have found that collections such as these are only worth what the buyer is willing to pay, so I figure if we can even get 1/2 -3/4 of that it's still worth it to the cause...This card as only been touched by human hands once and that was by me to place it in the hard case...this card is 100% mint. buckee
Re: Suggestions on an Idea You'd probably get a better price for it on ebay, rather than in here. If you really want to donate it to the DHNA, maybe just let Norm put it up for sale on his ebay account. I'm sure he'd be glad to send you a tax receipt for whatever it goes for. Just an idea. VermontHunter
Re: Suggestions on an Idea Nope don't even want a receipt...if Norm wants to go through the aggrivation of EBay it's all his to do what ever he pleases. If anyone is in question as to why I would even sacrifice this card from my collection..Like I said I have tons of John LeClair Autographed stuff and find that this is for a worthy cause, even if it is to buy more video's for Norm to watch...So if you are interested Norm just say the word and I'll mail the card directly to you and you can deal with the process and do what you will with the funds you happen to recieve... Tominator
Re: Suggestions on an Idea I'd say mail it to Norm directly. He deals with auctioning stuff all the time for the DHNA. Fantastic act of charity BTW--kudos.
