buffett1
Do we have anyone here who could help me with some insights into fixing a leak in our fridge? We have collected water in the bottom of it, removed frozen ice from the freezer overflow, defrosted it and have since experienced water in it again. I checked the level of it and that should be good, but I am wondering how to check if the water line to the ice maker is causing the problem or if it isn't defrosting itself. Anybody? You could send me a PM if you like. Thanks.

buckbuster11
I'm currently dealing with this problem. You've got one of two problems in my opinion. Either you have something (food, junk etc...) in jammed up in your drain hose or the heating element in the back of your freezer isnt working properly. This will cause the water in the freezer to freeze solid overtop and down inside of the drain, instead of draining down to tray under the fridge. That link Lewis provided you with does a pretty good explanation of the situation and what you can do. Also, I'd run a search on the make and model of your fridge. Some of them have a history of these kinds of problems.
wtnhunt
Had a similar issue with ours a few years back. Used the compressor and blew air through the drain line, that seemed to solve the problem. If you have continued problems, think Steve Douglass(bowtechturkeyhunter) knows quite a bit about appliance repair. Have not seen him around here in a while, but might shoot him a pm.
