cinch314
Why do they call it a doctor's appointment when the doctor dont see you until 45 minutes to 3 hours past your scheduled appointment????? I know that sometimes they have surgeries and stuff that run late but not all the time.
Dubie
Because, if your late for the appointment, they cancel you, but still charge a a bunch of fees, that you'll have to pay again next time you show up for your re-schedualed appointment.... Tominator
I guess I'm lucky when it comes to my doctors. I usually don't have to wait too long. I think it's a matter of patient care. I think most doctors don't want to make you feel rushed, and they want to give you the best care and try to figure out what's going on first and worry about the clock later. I know if I have a difficult case, I want that doctor there explaining all the options and answering all the questions. Some cases are just tougher than others. cinch314
I understand your point Tominator and I can agree but I know that sometimes I have to leave work to go to an appointment and am gone half the day and Ive really got a lot to do at work and then my boss starts calling me wanting to know where Im at and he is like hurry back and stuff. Tominator
Yep, I understand that too, and you would think your boss would understand too. I'm sure he/she has had to wait on a doctor sometime in their life.
okiedog
Here is what I have learned from experience. Always try to get your appt as early in the morning as possible. Alot of times the vists last longer than the time alotted for each patient. So if you have a afternoon appt... you may be bumped waaaayyy back. If it is an option, you might try to schedule your appointments as close to the cutoff before lunchtime as possible. When I have to take the kids in, if the appointment is early morning or after lunch, typically the wait is much longer. If you are there shortly before lunch, they do not usually leave for their lunch before finishing seeing the pateints they have to see, and will get to you as quick as they can.
