and the twisters are on the ground. Updraft everywhere. On was just spotted about 35 miles from here and storms flooding in.

The hail just dropped here for about 3 minutes like crazy. Looks like a long night ahead for everyone in NE Oklahoma, Southeast Kansas, and NW Arkansas..... :o

Crazy how many you see down there. I know they're incredibly destructive, but I'd love to see one.

No you don't......They are much better to see on tv.....I will never forget the ones I have been involved with......Care not to relive those experiences... Hope I never do since I moved out of those areas.

I really wish I had gotten some pics of Union University and some of the area in the path of the f4 that hit Jackson back in February. Block buildings were demolished!!! We had been all around where that tornado hit earlier that day. Amazing seeing the aftermath close up just how bad that was, what the news showed really did not do justice to the damage and devastation. Really amazing that there were not more casualties than what there were.

Where we are, the tornado's seem to track through the bottoms near us. Closest tornado's we have had have been within a mile, that is tooooo close, and we have had debris scattered around our property on many occasions. In response to your wanting to see one, the bad thing is that most often the worst storms seem to hit here at night when it is dark and at times when it would be nice to be asleep. I have heard them, listening out the back door and it is a very eary sound in the dark.

It really is crazy. Its nothing to hear about 20 or so reported around the state during a single night.

However, the news is really great about tracking twisters due to our location. If you pay attention rarely are you in any real danger as long as you take head to their warning.

Sadly many do hit at night like William said. Thats when they catch people off guard. Still, they are a beautiful, dangerous, amazing thing. Storm season is always exciting as long as no one gets hurt.
