JimPic
Browning makes an A-Bolt Hunter rifle, but not an A-Bolt shotgun
Hoosierbuck
Browning USED to make an A-Bolt 12 ga. rifled barrel, so this guy plus every other mother's son that lives in a shotgun state would give their I-teeth for one. They just don't make any more, and there are darn few on the market, ever! HB

LifeNRA
Browning USED to make an A-Bolt 12 ga. rifled barrel, so this guy plus every other mother's son that lives in a shotgun state would give their I-teeth for one. Maybe one day they will bring them back!
Hoosierbuck
Maybe the cost to make them did not allow a margin for profit that was attractive to the company in light of expected sales, and/or an increased retail price did not attract enough buyers such that the company felt expenses would be borne out by the demand. Just a theory. They are nice, but a great muzzleloader can be had for a lot less and is usable in most shotgun zones, plus my old Marlin 512 can be had for half that price! Marlin, Savage and Mossberg all have/had very good (performance wise) bolt slug guns. They were all various degrees of ugly, though. Guest csjknavs
I have a Savage 210 and it is a great shooting slug gun. The Browning A-Bolt was made for just a few years and was discontinued due to lack of sales. Not many people wanted to buy a slug gun for around $800. The A-Bolt is truely a one of a kind gun though. That being said, check out the video on this new Ithaca Deerslayer III. This looks like a heck of a slug gun. http://www.ithacagun.com/deerslayer3.html
Hoosierbuck
That DSIII does look nice, but again, MSRP is almost $1200. If you are not married to a repeater, and are just dying to replace the Savage, How about the Encore Pro-Hunter in 12 or 20 gauge with the stainless, fluted barrel? Mine shot honest 3" 100 yard groups, and that was with only trying 3 kinds of ammo. HB
