So now I gotta make list to see who goes hunting 1st -Curlers are real handy....I keep some on hand to wrap loose strands of twine on-or trapping wire..... -and pantyhose....I NEVER leave Seward on a winter trip to Anchorage....never know when you have to wrap a busted radiator hose...... .....and I think it might have to be ALL or nothing....you'll need all of us gals to help you on your hunt:p ....Did I just say that?! -Anyway,.....you ever catch a moose?-Come on up and try it out....and all of us gals ...Outdoorgirl, Deb, Cinch314, Niterunner,Andrea,Turkeygirl, Wildside, Moon,Hunting-in-Maine ,Mrswtnhunt,-Huntnma,of course!-...and whoever else I'm leaving out...oh-and me-....we'll all help you pack it out! I'll provide comedic relief...........:D:D -Andrea....you'll be our fishing queen, for sure!!....Every moose hunt is full of Rainbow, Grayling, and salmon fishing!-Yum! Andrea......:rolleyes:....I won't call more than one deer "deers", if you promise to just say "moose":o;)...ok?-(trying to prep you before you get up here.......) and yes, I KNOW you will do just fine!!....All of you all will....we're a tough and ready bunch of women! ....One thing, though....sorry about no 4-wheeler, mule, or truck....where we are going, we don't have to mess with any of that....but we will for sure need hip waders....don't worry- I've got plenty of extra pair, and sizes... -and, between all of us gals,...we can cut each pack load down to about only 50 lbs...... -Heck, O'le Tim won't have to worry about a THING with us helping him out! -and we just might get a bear...Hey,you know...?-Buckee isn't too far from here...we'd better invite him to come along ,too.... -A real bear guy....AND- just in case Tim gets too nervous and scared!!:D:p:eek::D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

aksheephuntress Posted April 3, 2008 Report Share Posted April 3, 2008 ....Yep, and I know just the place,too...four of us gals can handle the quarters....Huntnma-maybe you and I should pack the hindquarters....I need to other gals to volunteer to take the fore- quarters.....Outdoor Girl- if you want to, you can take one side of ribs....another volunteer-the other side....another pack-the backstrap an tenderloin....another TWO packs(believe it or not)....just the NECK MEAT.-I got 75 pounds out the neck alone out of this last big moose!....(that one moose where I had an 80-lb pack wasn't this picture :this was a little forked horn-but, SO tasty!).... -Another pack: the heart, liver, and toungue(oh, I just can taste it now, me cooking that for you all- I can cook scrumptious toungue and liver!) -another pack:probably another game bag 1/2 full of extraneous boned meat off of the carcass- -another two packs:the lower legs with the hooves...( I take the tendon out of them, dry them for about a year, and you have babiche....and I have friends all the time asking me for moose leg bones to give their sled dogs... -another pack(I'll take this one;))...the entire hide... -OH!...I almost forgot to include the nose!-Pickled moose nose...and moose nose soup!Yum!-Andrea....you'll be the talk of the town I'll bet, when I send you home with some of that! .......OH YEAH-I almost forgot about Tim.....(sorry, Tim:o)....I think we will let you pack out something.....your 60" rack!:D:p;) (One condition, though....you have to take it with the entire head, and cape, too.....just to do it right:)) -Buckee will be our bear hunter and protector. -See?!-It will take all of us-and it'll be a hoot! -Some of my moose-stomping grounds....nice to remimisce, especially with all this ice and snow halfway up my window,right now!
