Why 2 year old sisters are considered evil

We put the kids to bed at 8:30. We always hope they go to sleep before we come to bed at 10, but that rarely happens. Anyway, at 10:00, I start out of the living room when I smell something. I ask my wife if she had put out a new Renuzit or whatever that smelled like menthol. When she replied "No.", I knew we were in trouble.

The closer we got to the bedroom's, the stronger the menthol smell became. About halfway there, we realized that what we were smelling was Vic's Vapor Rub. I guess I should mention here that our kids are a little bit spoiled. Lainey(2) sleeps in a basinet that sits next to my wife's side of the bed. Chase(5) sleeps in a day bed, right next to me.

Well, when I walk through our doorway, I see my daughter with lipstick all over her face, running into the closet. I glance down at my son, and he's fast asleep but apparently, my daughter didn't want to exclude him from the fun. His hair was caked up with Vic's Vapor Rub....we're talking almost the whole jar! The "almost" part was because she did use some to style her own hair.

Needless to say, the kid's were given another bath at 10:15 at night. And you might find it interesting to know that Vapor Rub does not dissolve in water, nor does soap break it down.

On a good note, I doubt my family gets congested for the next week or so.:D:D:D

Apparently you too have played that game Andrea.

On the bright side, they are probably both breathing very clearly today.:D

....HaHa!!-This was a great story!- Vick's Vapor Rub......Ohhhhhh!-how strong!-and, I can totally sympathize with you guys about all this happening at 10:00 at night!:o;):D-it always seems to fall like that;kids have a knack!:D

-For future reference, though.......I'd like to let you know how well JOY dish soap works, in cutting through stuff like that.......we used to have a gallon or two on hand all the time when commercial fishing....was useful for accidental diesel spills, or hydrolic leaks onto the deck/over the side- better than kerosine, anyway....;)

If they are still greasy try using dish washing soap in their hair. My son did the same thing with a jar of vaseline when he was 2 and that was the only thing that got it out.

Yep my 7 year old daughter decided that her and her brother needed to do the vaseline in the hair thing also, needless to say my wife was not amused one bit but I laughed my butt off and it took a wile till we got it all out. Thanks for the info on the Dawn thing, next time we will try that. LOL
