Turkeygirl
Any birds gobbling in NY yet? I'm wondering when I should kick up my scouting and start going out in the mornings/evenings to listen for gobbles...gotta get those birds pinned down, especially since I miss the first two days of the season because of school:mad:
Guest Outcast
Very little, I heard a couple this past Sunday morning, but that was the first and last time I heard gobbling so far. I see alot of birds in the fields, and many of our flocks are starting to thin out and break up. Not much gobbling yet though. Usually the third week of April is when I like to be out scouting and listening alot. Seems to really kick in around then.

beagleboy
I am going to start going out in the mornings and listening for them next week. I actually found some small areas of public land that I want to scout out.
Turkeygirl
Yeah, I've got a state land spot I really want to scout out also. Hunted it a few times last year...heard a bird gobbling but never saw him..must have been an old smart bird and he was on private land somewhere. I saw HUGE tracks there back in like February so I really want to check it out, and my boss owns 60 acres adjacent to the state land, and he said I can hunt there whenever:)
