I started bow hunting in 1988.

Had no idea what I was doing since no one I knew bowhunted and realtree forums were not available.:(

There were several years I didn't bow hunt much because I didn't have a decent place to hunt. For over a decade I kept throwing away unfilled archery tags and learning what not to do.

Finally in October of 2000 I shot my first doe (massive initial blood trail) but lost it in a corn field once the bleeding stopped. I shot/harvested/and tagged my first archery deer (6-point) in 2003. Got my first doe in 04, and a 10-point (P&Y) in 06. Last year was my best year to date with an 11-point (P&Y) and 2 does. That's a total of 6 for me. Just wait till this fall, I'll be in double digits!;)

Bow hunting exclusively for the last 6 years. 3 years of that I have not had property. So say 3 years and 2 bucks. first one was a 115 class 8 point.

second was my deer from this past season. I've rough scored him on the boone and crocket as a non typical at 127 4/8 why they don't say 1/2 I don't know. It is an 8 point with the left side drop coming in at 1.25"

Next year is looking better already.

Hmmm Lets see...

I was a late bloomer when it came to bow hunting. I started with the bow in 2001 and on my very 1st bow hunt and the very 1st deer I saw I put in the freezer. With a compound bow that had plastic wheels not cams, and was an inch too long on the draw.

Since then I have made at least 1-2 bow kills every year.

The year I got my Mathews Outback in 04, I did lose a tall spike I shot, but recovered him a few days later with help from the vultures:rolleyes:

Now I have moved towards the recurve. My goal is to be consistent enough with that, to take it hunting this season.
