Guest Andrea
I have been trying to find a song that I barely remember. Don't know the title or artist. Not even the lyrics. But it was by a woman. She sang about strapping a buck to the hood of her truck. Living in the mountains or something. Basically a song about not needing a man's help. And it had the word "Dixie " in it. It was a one hit wonder. No one famous sang it. LOL...........I know that's very vague. But this is driving me absolutely NUTS. I've been searching on the net but not getting far. Oh yeah, pretty sure this song came out in the 90's.:confused::confused::confused:

wtnhunt
It came out in the 90's. Early 90's late 90's? Really was just getting into country music in the early 90's. Would help too if you could tell us a little more about the singer or lyrics.
wtnhunt
Couple artists that come to mind from the early 90's who might have sang a song like you mention maybe Holy Dunn, Pam Tillis, Patty Loveless. or Mary Chapin Carpenter. If it was current, I would say it sounds like something Miranda Lambert would sing.
Guest Andrea
The thing is......it wasn't a famous singer. I think this was her only song that made it to the radio. And I don't think it made it to number one either.

WHISKEYSWAMP
a couple I can think of from that time that I liked but never really made it huge were Chely Wright and Sherrie Austin. It sounds like something Sherrie Austin would sing... don't know:confused:
Tominator
Terri Clark comes to mind. She seems to like running a man's pride down.

It sounds like something Sherrie Austin would sing... don't know:confused: To my knowledge Chely Wright did not record a song to fit that description. She was pretty popular for a while too. Chely Wright recorded some good music and had some very popular videos. Sherrie Austin I think had a few hits, if I remember right she did a rendition of Dolly Parton's song "jolene" in the early 2000's as well as a few of her own songs that were hits. Sherrie Austin also had some videos that got a bit of play on cmt. Was there a video to the song you are talking about Andrea?
wtnhunt
Terri Clark comes to mind. She seems to like running a man's pride down. Yep, she does seem the man hater type, but she too had several hits and was pretty popular.
Guest Andrea
If I saw the girl's name or the title I would immediately know it. It's no one popular like Terri Clark. And this isn't really a man-hater song. Just a girl song kinda along the same lines as a Country Boy Can Survive.
wtnhunt
If I saw the girl's name or the title I would immediately know it. So in other words, if someone were to just rattle off names eventually you might figure it out? And it is not any of those mentioned so far. Do you know about when in the 90's? wtnhunt
What about Suzy Boguss Andrea? She had a few hits, never really took off and she was in that time frame. Sounds like something she might have sang.
