boomer
Went hunting this morning to some public ground that always has turkeys on it this morning. It was really foggy and calm out once we got out to about were they always roost. When they started to gobble we found out they were on the other side of the river but to our luck that side is also public. So once we got over to were they were gobblin at they're pretty tight lip. We went and checked a cornfield thats next to the timber they were in but that was empty. So we went in the timber a little trying not to bump any birds. I broke out the new long box I just got the night before and one fired back a couple times. We hurried up and set up the DB blind. The birds would only gobble a little bit over the next hour or so. Didnt sound like they're going to come any closer when one all of a sudden one gobbled about 50yrds away by a big brush pile. Next thing we knew we had 9 toms and 4 jakes in front of us. There was only one tom doing the strutting and it looked like he out weighed them all. So I waited for the shot he only offered a 30yrd shot. He only went about 10yrds after the shot. We got a little show after that. I think every bird there went an had their way with him. Ended being 26.4lbs, 9 13/16 beard and 11/16 spurs
