Guest Andrea
......laugh. Today I had my 2 boys and one of their friends with me. We were in town as I had some errands to run before we headed to our camp. 1. The paperwork I had just picked up for my father was in the front seat where my youngest son Jack decided to spill his Coke. Paperwork ruined, had to turn around and go back and get more copies. (Mom not happy.) 2. Once we get to the camp I unlock the camper but something isn't quite right with the lock on the door and after fooling with it for a minute or two I said "forget it" and left the door open and walk back to my truck to get something.I hear a slam. Here comes my son's little friend: " I hope your keys aren't in the camper Miss Andrea". Of course they are, along with my cell phone. (Mom losing her patience quickly. ) 3. After climbing thru a window that was cracked, we opened the camper. Then we gather our fishing stuff and head to the boat. We get in, I crank it and off we go. Didn't catch anything at the first spot up the river so I decide we should move. Well, wouldn't ya know it...the motor won't crank. Dead battery. No cell phone signal. Thankfully we are UP river from camp. (Mom is paddling and swearing silently to herself.) It's raining now. I am at home. MAYBE we will go back to the camp after the bad weather moves out tomorrow. Or maybe I will stay at home and watch tv. And laugh.
aksheephuntress
Oh, gosh,Andrea......it must be the moon, or something!!- I am so glad that someone besides me had a day like that ...(although, I'd say ,your took the cake!) -That sounds like a horrifically ironic chain of events!-gee..and I'll bet it's HOT down there, too........-Honestly.....I will never forget dealing with mishaps like you've just described, and then having to battle that hot Texas heat(when I lived there....-prob. similiar temp. as So. FL?)-.....Always keep a can of almonds in your pocket...munching on NUTS diffuses the worst of stress!..... -Andrea..think of it this way, though......what if your angels were detaining you like that, for a bit...(as annoying as that whole scenario was, today, for you, I know.....)...for the higher purpose of preventing you from being in an awful accident?! -Life unfolds and manifests in mysterious ways...... (I'm still sorry you had to go through all that today, though.....)-Kathleen- -BTW...I really like your new avatar...

buckee
If I was your hubby, I'd be real careful what I said for a few days...LOL Don't ya just love camping and fishing. We had a saying, on the fish boats, about things going wrong. "If it's not one thing, it's three"
