codman Posted April 5, 2008 Report Share Posted April 5, 2008 Been noticing more movement 8 Hens 2 Toms puffed and strutting the other night in a corn field. This morning i went out at 5:30 to our field in my blind to kinda scout the area. Hooted on my owl call and heard a gobble far away. Then i heard another and yelped on the slate call. Bout 20 minutes went by and heard a gobble across the stone wall bout 200 yards away, then i made another yelp and purred. Then a monster gobble but it came from behind, i looked and 30 feet was a Tom with a 7" beard . Lets just say my heart was racing and i hope may 7th ( opening day ) comes soon! Im so excited!
