Help!! Mossberg 935

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I need your help. I pulled out my 935 today and found a problem. I put the gun away with the action open. I pushed the button to close it and nothing, it only moved about .5". I then tried to push it shut......it was almost frozen. I eventually got it about a .25" from shut and it snapped closed. I thought hmmm......maybe its ok. NOPE!

I then try to pull it open and it is frozen. I thought maybe something got stuck in their with the action open so I pulled the trigger guard, put some oil in there and tried again after not seeing anything.

Any idea why the action is VERY stiff just in the middle?? Again, easy on the back and very front and nothing in the way.

My license is for the week of April 21st. I need help and didn't want to take it to the gun smith if it is something simple.

Thanks!

Phil

take it apart---very easy to take apart and clean it. I suspect though that something may be wrong but i'm not a gunsmith. I do take my 935 apart weekly during duck season to clean it will. Hopefully it's something stuck in the action and you just can't see it.

Pop the two pins out on the side and pull the trigger assembly out and luck in there--you can also spray some oil once the trigger assembly is out.

I had a similar issue, but mine was from not enough cleaning during waterfowl season. I took the action out of the gun and gave it a good srubing, made it better than new. Pull the carginh handle out, and the action will come out. Give a good scrubbing and a light coat of oil, and at the same time get into receiver and give it a good cleaning, put it back togethter and it should be good as new if something isn't broken. Good luck and let us know if you got it fixed! Eric
