Turkeygirl
I wanted to share this with all of you because this critter is so amazing and an example of just how great God is. I don't see many of these around here and I felt so blessed to get this photo. I have a couple more photos but didn't want to shrink them down to load on here as I'm definitely planning to get a print. Call me nuts but this is true camoflage and is just a spectacular critter:) I kept flushing it while looking for sheds and finally saw it land and quietly snuck up with camera in hand and zoomed in. Woodcock in case you don't know.

Bob LeBlanc
Sighhhhh...the wonderful timberdoodle ! A close workin' pointer...a fine double-gun in hand...briers and brambles along the edge of an old homestead poplar stand...and the freshness of breath that only the breezes of October can carry:rolleyes: Will fall EVER get here !! Tominator
Good deal Ruth. Those birds are something else. I get them in my field every year. At night, they do a pretty crazy breeding flight. This is what they sound like before they take off up in a swirling flight making a whistling sound with their wings, and a really fluty sound when they fall back down. It's a crazy bird for sure.
