Consitantly shooting Left

I had my bow tuned and it shoots good, but there is times when I will shoot and all the shots will be left. The up and down is perfect, but I think there is something in my form causing my shots to go left. I have moved the sights and I still shoot left. Some times when I shoot its right on the money but others, dont go so smoothly.?

Rule out it being arrow related. Number your arrows and see if that is the culprit. You could have some fliers in your arrows.

Check your rest, your not getting any contact are you with the prongs, you could have one moving every so slightly.

Do you have a bubble level in your sight, if so, concentrate on keeping the bow level by watching that bubble and making sure its where it needs to be.

Good luck, biggest thing is having patience and trying to rule out the problem.

More often than not I can tell you from experience that you're punching your trigger. I fought the same problem for years until I got some coaching. I would hit a deer target in the throat when facing left and then on the very next shot, hit it in the kill zone. The coach noticed I was punching the trigger and actually offsetting my shot by a foot or more but less than a foot at other times. It happens without you ever noticing it and gun hunters are not exempt. To help you quit this, stand at a big enough target that you can shoot straight ahead. Stand no more than 10 feet away and practice barely squeezing your trigger. Go as slow as you can squeezing the trigger and don't concentrate on where or when the bow goes off. Just focus all of your attention on going as slow as possible in pulling the trigger. This is all assuming you shoot a trigger release. If you are shooting fingers then you are rolling the string as you release and you should be using a trigger release. Good luck and let me know how you do.

Have you been shooting for a while, are you left or right eye dominant?? are you gripping the bow, are you torquing the bow? if all equip. has been checked and ok, must be form..

Short ATA bows are very susceptible to being torqued when drawn ... ;)

I have found when drawing a compound bow it's best to draw with an open hand, and then lightly grip the grip as if you were holding a can of beer .. ;);) The grip of your bow should follow the thumb line on the palm of your hand ... With todays shorter ATA bows it's so easy to torque the grip.. ;)

Hope I explained that clearly enough .. :o

These are the only things I can think off that will be throwing off your shot. The number one reason would have to be you torquing the bow to fix this loosen up your grip and just relax. Another reason might be your arrow not being properly selected for your set-up. It might be underspined. Make sure your arrow sits on your rest straight. See if you can get it laser tuned. This will show if the arrow is coming off the rest a little to the left or right

I take it you use a peep? If not you should consider.

It's likely the torque other have already mentioned.

One addition if you shoot wearing glasses.

I had that problem once.

I took my bow to the bow shop and had it tuned up.

I shot in the air conditioned building and my problem was solved. Later that week I was shooting outside and started sweating. I didn't realize it, but the sweat caused my glasses to slide down my nose causing me to alter my shot slightly, but enough to consistently shoot left. I now wear a band that keeps my glasses in a fixed position.:)

Yes I use a peep

No I dont wear glasses

working on the grip seemed to help, but i am still shooting left. I cant move my sights much farther. I have never hit the right side of the targer. Its always in the bullseye or left up to 4-5 inches

I am starting to think its think it might be out of tune, or I have the wrong arrows?

did this problem just start?? you should not have to put your sight to the extreme left or right,,,did you check your dominant eye???did you check your cams, wheels,, all or any screws on them, look for cracks on the limbs..

Wow bud it sounds like your centershot isn't set correctly. You should have more than a 1/4 inch. My suggestion would be to go to a local proshop. Ask them to set the proper centershot and check your drawlength to make sure it is right. Improper drawlength can affect everything with your form. You would be amazed how many people are shooting too long of a drawlength

Try a torqueless grip. I am betting you are having a combination of two things. Centershot and torque. If they make a torqueless grip for your bow, try that. Definitely have your centershot checked. The try walk back tuning also. Are your pins all vertical or do they run at a slight angle one way or another from 20, 30 to 40?

Centershot is the manufacturers recommendation of the distance from the berger hole to the center of your arrow. For each bow it is different and probably tells in your owners manual what is with-in specs. My Mathews Switchback XT has a centershot recommendation of 11/16ths - 13/16ths. I shoot very consistantly with mine sat at 13/16ths
