Hey guys just wanted to say thanks for all your prayers after our house fire ... its been exactly one week almost to the hour we found out about the fire.

This whole experiece is nothing I would ever wish on anyone not even my worste enemy. You dont realize how much you have until you have lost it all. The most important thing I have gotten out of this whole thing so far is that everything we have lost is just material and it can all be replaced.

I mean it could have been a lot worse we could be sitting in a hospital room with one or both of our kids ... fortunately we dont have any of that to deal with ...

Hunter (wifes dog) is doing a lot better he still has a nastgy cough because of all the smoke he inhaled. We are lucky to have him with us for sure. Thankfully we have a awesome vet and they have really worked with us a ton as you can expect with something like this expenses are already starting to take there toll.

Another blessing is that we are 100% insured and the contracctor estimated his cost to rebuild the home back to the way it was is around 80-100k and the property loss will be around 20-30k. Back in September I re wrote the insurance poslicy with State Farm and my agent told me that if I would have had this fire with the insurance company I had before I would have been covered for a wopping 55k. Not even enough to cover the 2 rooms that have to be completely rebuilt ... than God for small blessing like that.

It looks rough right now since we dont have anything and are living in a 2 room hotel but trust me it could be a lot worse and we thank God every day for everything we do have.

Once again Thank you to everyone of you that sent prayers our way and for caring most of all.

I will post pictures as soon as I get them from our contractor since both or cameras got damaged in the fire ( they were in the office where the fire started)

Hope you guys get back in your home soon. Glad everyone is okay, including Hunter. Where was Nellie?

Well as we said before I think lol ... I was out hunting pheasants with my other 2 dogs and Kimberly was at a neighborhood association meeting just down the street I was 30 mins away when I got the call but I realized that there was absolutely nothing I could do by racing home so I made a couple phone calls and headed home ... I think that helped me and my wife, gave me some time to think.

Dont get me wrong by any means I am upset about what happened but it is out of my hands and getting mad will do absolutely no good, I just want to be there for my family so that they can get through this as easily as possible.

We will certainly have new stuff but I would at this point rather have my own stuff back and have things just the way they were a week ago.

As far as pictures we didnt loose to many of them so we are very very thankful for that the cleaning ppl thought that they could save most of them and redigitalize the rest of them on the computer and touch them up (amazing the technology)

This should be an amazing learning experience for us and in some aspects I am looking forward to it but I can tell you this I never ever ever want to do this again. PERIOD

Steve

PS I want to thank my good buddy Todd (dogdoc) with a couple of phone calls he helped me put my wife at ease with hunter and the couple of "scares" we had with him he was very reassuring and put my mind at ease and in fact helped me put my wifes mind at ease ... Todd from the bottom of my heart Thank you buddy and I cannot wait to meet you in person and shake your hand.
