Turkeygirl
Word of advice...because I bought a youth gun this year because it fits me better as a women, the Mossbergs have the ambidextrous safety which makes it very nice for lefties, where as the Remington, unless you find a left hand specific model, the safety is behind the trigger on right hand guns, making it a little difficult to take the safety off...I found that out while shopping for one. Keep an eye on Bass Pro, Gander Mountain, etc....I got mine on sale at Bass Pro.
Adjam5
You should be able to pick up a .20 ga for like $250-300 new. Even less for single shot models, but they kick more. Mossberg or Remington. I picked up my sons gun at Gander Mtn. They have a good assortment of youth sized guns. Mossberg also gives a certificate for 1/2 off of the adult sized stock when the time comes. You get a new stock and a replacement forend to make it adult sized. Cruise www.gunbroker.com for used guns.

If your local Wal Mart still carries guns, you might check there for the Mossberg - ours has it and the price is pretty good compared to our local sporting goods stores. Our local Sportsmans Wharehouse has a lefty Remington 870 youth in 20 guage that is actually cheaper than the right handed model - go figure. Good luck. Jeramie
Check on the MB 500's. Some of our Walmarts still carry guns and the ones that do have them for just under $200.

texastrophies
but they kick more. This is true, bought a remington 870 youth in 20 ga for my son, and it kicks more than my 1100 in 12 ga.
