Guest Turtle
Newman's car was too high in post race inspection at Texas. Docked 25 points dropping him from 8th to 10th in points. Crew chief fined $25,000 and put on probation. Owner Roger Penski docked 25 owner points.

Guest Turtle
Guess they think some infractions aren't as serious as others. This is same thing did last year for a car too low.
VABuckSlayer
If the car was too "high" then it certainly wasn't an advantage! After reading what the deal was I'm corrected. If the right rear was high then he had more rear downforce. Definate penalty!
muggs
one more reason to show the cars are the athletes...not the driver in that "sport."
AdvantageTimberLou
one more reason to show the cars are the athletes...not the driver in that "sport." Yep 43 cars sitting on the starting grid with no drivers would be cool to see. You have no clue on racing, go back to the stick and ball sports muggs!! In our class they measure the top of your rear spoiler, the higher you have it the more downforce you can get on the rear to plant it. In reality your going to burn fuel in a race and lose that rear weight, they must have been a little higher than most and could not back up why it was! I'd rather see Tony Stewart try to run a lap around the track at Daytona...I'm betting he won't make it. Pure athlete.

I'd rather see Tony Stewart not make a lap around Daytona driving his, or should I say the Gibbs Racing Toyota.
