bluelund79
I just bought a Leapers Red/Green Dot scope for my 870 turkey gun. Anybody have any pros and cons to this optic. It seems like any of the other Mid End Red Dots. It should be coming in the mail soon....Just have to get it sighted in before my turkey season starts on 23 April....Thanks in advance. snapper
Sorry, I have no experience with this scope...heck, I'm not even sure I've heard of it. Good luck with it...those turkey loads can have some recoil esp. 3 1/2". Let us know how it works for ya!
bluelund79
I installed and sighted in. The 870 was my first gun that Dad got for me for Hunter's Safety graduation some 17+ years ago. Using the 3" Remington Premier Turkey loads in #5, she centered real good at 30 yards. Effectively removing the paint from the entire shoot and see target. This scope worked really nice for what I needed it to do, and it came with a spare battery and scope covers. Needless to say, when my Dad came out later for some trap shooting, he asked why I bought another 870 when he had already bought me one. Got to explain that it is the same gun, only I put an ATI collapsable stock and foreend, and the weaver base and scope. Hopefully I will get my turkey sometime between this Wednesday and that Sunday. My season is only 5 days for the time period I drew....
