I know I haven't posted in a long time, but today that has to change. I shot my first bird, my first year hunting the elusive Georgia turkey. This was my fourth hunt this year, and I could not be more thankful. I called him in using a Fang diaphram call to about 25 paces 5 away from the decoy, and the next few minutes after the shot were a blur of adrenaline, excitment, and joy that we have this right. I patiently practiced for an entire year waiting for this season, and today all that anticipation and dreaming lead into one perfect hunt. I'd like to thank the guys at realtree outdoors for their efforts in spreading the word thru video and this site, I'll be a deer and turkey hunting the rest of my life. So from a new and hooked turkey hunter here in Ga., I hope all of you have the same success this year.. It's a great day to be alive.. I'd like to dedicate this day in honor of my wifes father who recently passed away. He was going to take me on my first turkey hunt this year, but it wasn't meant to be. Buddy I got our bird, miss you old man.
