Hope to do some planting sometime here this spring/summer. Will be planting a mix with my daughter as part of a 4-h program again this year that is a mix of beans and grains. We will also be planting a plot of eagle seeds rr soybeans if the ground in the bottom here ever dries out enough.

Yep, last summer was probably the driest I have ever seen in the time I have lived here. Weird thing was that the spring was probably about normal, spring here this year has started out with a bit above normal rainfall.

  • 4 weeks later...

Last weekend we planted around 5 acres of corn, which was one big plot and a bunch of small ones and we also planted about 4 acres of clover and chicory. This goes a long with the 85 acres that a local farm has planted to alfalfa for their cows. Our deer are a bit spoiled!!! We have also been looking at some other places to plant to clover and corn next year on our 500 acre farm. We have been using every little noock and crany that we can find to drag the deer on us to stay on us!!! Seemed to work great last year! Great season, looking forward to a better one this year.
