SuperMn106
I am thinking about purchasing one of these systems. Has anyone played all three? or have any experience with any of them? The one i am most interested in is the Playstation 3. I just wanted to get some opinoins, thanks.
Guest Finn
My boy would get Xbox 360 if he had my debit card for a day Think the graphics and games are better, but I'm not 100% sure.
Guest Finn
My son would buy an Xbox 360 if given the choice...not exactly sure why, but think he said the graphics are better.

When we play tennis and its like we were really playing, were breathin' heavy and sweatin'. Its funny just sittin' back watching others play. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I have a 360 and a Wii, the Wii is great if you have a couple other people around to play, more of a "party" game than anything, there are a few games out that are entertaining when playing alone, but I find it more fun to play with a few other people. The 360 is ok, graphics are good, a lot of games for it, I am currently playing Halo 3 online as I type this. They both have their pros and cons, but its really just what you are looking for. The ps3 has the Blue-ray disc player, with backwards capabilities, and an HD up converter, so you can watch your regular DVDs with a little bit more quality as well as the blue-ray DVDs. that alone might sell you on the PS3. If I were to have to choose right now between the 2, I'd probably go with the PS3, mainly for the blue-ray. I'd say the PS3 is more reliable to, the 360s failure rate, or whatever they call it (crashing, or hard drive going bad, etc...) is some where around 34% while the PS3 is only around 1% so that might be something to consider. My wife got a second controller Thursday and it is a blast playing tennis against each other. Next is the Nunchuck so we can box each other. You know sometimes you just feel like beating the heck out of someone.
slughunter
I have all 3. What im about to say is just my opinion: The wii is good for games that are more of an activity, like sports but its bad for adventure and fighting games. The PS3 is nice to play and its good that it has the blueray but the games are pretty expensive and there arnt a whole lot of them. The xbox360 is my favorite system. It is not that expensive, and has good games and a lot of them available. Plus xbox live is a whole lot of fun. Not to mention HALO3! Overall I would say go with the xbox360. But its up to you... -shane
Guest Finn
Casey also said that PS3 will only play PS3 games, while XBox 360 will play Xbox games. We have a bunch of PS2 games that would be worthless.

We have a bunch of PS2 games that would be worthless. Yep, the 40gb version (less expensive) won't play ps2 games BUT it will play ps1 games. If you want to spend more and get the 80gb version, that plays ps2 and original PS games. The way I see it, if I am buying a system for $400, why would I want to play the old games? I was tempted to take my Xbox 360 back a couple weeks ago and get a PS3. Had it overheat after only 30-45 minutes of use that day.(just got it for Christmas. My cousin has had his for a year, and about 6 months after he got it he had to send it in because the hard drive crashed on it. If you have followed Xbox360s you'd know about the "Red Ring of Death" I suffered one light already, if it happens again or something else goes wrong, back to the store it goes (have the extended warranty from circuit city)
Guest Andrea
If I got a new one it would be the PS3. Heard too much bad stuff about overheating with the Xboxes. That's way too much money to throw away for a TOY.
aksheephuntress
...Never thought I would ever buy a video game for the kids....but that x-box 360 is the hit!!...and their friends who have the Wii and other systems, all ask to come over to play on our x-box 360! (I put a time limit on it for them , though!)...
M00N
I've had way too many friends with their X-Box 360's breaking, overheating, etc. My one friend has sent his back to the factory 3 times already and it's barely a year old. My other two friends that have one have at least sent theirs back one time within the first 8-months of purchase. So, if I was given the choice between the 3 it'd either be the Playstation 3 to replace my current Playstation 2, which doubles as our TV's DVD player, or a Wii just because it's a good exercise workout to play some of the Wii games. bozz
Ok... JMO, after playing all the systems for years now and owning most and having just purchase a Wii last dec., I can't imagine playing the old controler style (ps3,xbox 360) . Also it crackes me up when people mention the Wii and only talk about the mini games it comes with for work outs. They are ok for groups but when you move onto the lightgun cames such as RE Umberall Chronicles, Cabelas, Tomb Raider, Ghost Squad of which we have you really discover the greatest of this point and shoot system. Its quite amazing really, heck we don't even play the mini games anymore. The Wii really rocks if you can find one, they still are very hot items and hard to find. I saw 9 Wii's disappear off Wal-mart counter in minutes but plenty of x-box's and ps 3's around.
HUNTINGMAN
I have played all and there was no question in my mind what system to buy,it was the PS3.The Xbox has to much of a reputation for going bad and I know lots of people who have them and have had to send them back and get them fixed, one guy had to send his back 3 times. The wii is ok but the graphics cant compare to the PS3.With the PS3 you get a blueray player,it serves as a computer and you can brouse the web on you tv,play with people all over the world. Its nice to have a 50" plasma computer moniter, theres no question what I would buy if I had to get another one,it would be the PS3 and the first game to buy would be call of duty 4,its the best game I have ever played. If you get a PS3 and call of duty 4 toplay on line send me a pm and I will add you to my friend list to play together. Mach1
If the PS3 had the Halo trilogy of games, I would've bought it. I traded my PS2 in for the original xBox solely based on Halo. I'd like to get a 360 so I can get Halo 3, but the funds aren't there right now. That one game puts the 360 ahead of the PS3 for me. And until reading this thread, I'd never heard of people having problems with the 360.

Alisha
I vote for the xbox 360 as well. My sister has one and we play it quite a bit. Halo, Gears of War, and Call of Duty are 3 of our favorites. No problems with it overheating or anything yet. *knocks on wood!* I've also played the Wii multiple times at my fiance's house and found myself bored with it after only 30 minutes or less. Also, his brother has the PS3, which I've watched him play it some and while the graphics looked good, I still wouldn't choose it over the 360. SuperMn106
Thanks for all of th replys. I am still not sure which one to get. I have had a 360 before and liked it. I do not need that many games so as far as the amount of games goes, as long as I have a baseball, football and military game I am all set. Now with the PS3 playing Blu Ray discs I assume that it is High Definition? Also Will it be able to play regular DVDs along with the Blu Rays? I have a 52" HD tv and was looking for a HD dvd player and why not have that with a game system. I am slightly leaning towards the PS3 but I have set my spending limit at between 450-500. Good way to spend my rebate check.

Yes it is backwards compatible, so you can still play your regular DVDs. I'd stay away from HD-dvds, the blue-ray format won the little "war" between the two, and every major studio has stopped making Hd DVDs I like my 360, but right now, If i were to choose one the PS3 would win mostly because of the blue-ray. If baseball, football, and military games are your main types of games to play, Madden and call of Duty 4 are available for both, but MLB the show is a great baseball game and only available for the PS3 (possibly the best baseball game out there IMO)
98chevy
I have a xbox 360. Its pretty awsome. I really only played it about 15 times since chirstmas when my family got it for me. But When i do have tome to play its alot of fun. M little cousins have the wii and ps3. The Ps3 is good for football and baseball and "war" games wii is liek said above a party system.
