Clarksville?? Isn't that somewhere around Cuba? I'm not too far from there.

I've been seeing flocks and strutters driving over to campus each morning, but around home on the land I hunt, have yet to see a gobbler. Found a big set of tracks but they are at least 1 week old, found some fresh hen tracks in the same field, and this is the field where the big guy hung last spring and where I know there was a flock of at least 7 turkeys over the winter. Found some gobbler poop there back in March, but have yet to see any other sign lately.

Need to get out and scout some state land spots out, especially where I saw some big tracks when we still had snow.

I'm trying to get into thinking "oh my gosh, there aren't any gobblers" lol

Saw 17 hens this come off the roost, with only 2 gobblers this am. I thought that seemd good with the amount of gobbling. From 0645 until I needed some coffee at 0945, I saw a couple tom on the other end of the field from me. After coffee, it took less then 15 mintues to get my biggest bird I've ever shot. 26 pounds, 9.5 in beard, 1.125" spurs. Shot was right about 20 yards. Shot with a Mossberg 535 Tactical Turkey shooting 3.5" 1 3/4oz. Hevi Shot #6's.
