Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Anyone else hate English class when you were in school? I am taking it this semester just to hurry up and get it out of the way. Taking it online. I am getting an A in the class, but man I can't stand it. But it is required . I really didn't mind the parts in school where we learned about nouns and adjectives and all that stuff. But this class is reading and essays and crap. Not something I am interested in.

OJR
I never did like English! There are a lot of things much better than doing that crap! I don't mind reading, in fact, I love to read! What I never did like was reading then having to do a "book report"!
M00N
Math and science were my strongest subjects. English and history were my weakest subjects. I was almost always a grade ahead in all my math and science classes, when the option was possible, and always at my normal grade level in all my English and history classes. I don't know if I just didn't have the passion for the subjects or what, but I just never could find interest in English and history classes and was bored out of my mind during those classes all the time. I think some of the blame can be placed on all the boring, dull, and grumpy teachers I had during elementary school. I really do think that when I was younger and more easily influenced if I would have been placed with teachers that didn't always give off negative vibes and acted like they were only teaching us because they were getting paid and could care less about the students that maybe I wouldn't dislike the two subjects as much as I do now and could have grown to at least like them a little bit better. But, I'll never really know. All I know is I hate the two subjects and unless forced to discuss or work with them I avoid them.

rhine16
I hated English! Took my comps in hs to get them out of the way. Having to take an Intro to Lit class next semester, and then English classes are LONG gone for me
turkeybuster
Yea I know what you mean. I've always hated english. Always liked classes like zoology though.
wtnhunt
Did not really care much for english comp classes, but I did take them, and think I got B's in both comp I and II. What was worst in my opinion though was the required humanity classes that I had to write papers for to complete my associates degree. Really do not like writing papers on stuff that I really do not have much interest in.
cinch314
English was one of my strongest subjects. I loved it. I even liked advanced English where my essay won first place in the state of OK.

Bowtech_archer07
Don't care for English Comp either. I had one class 2nd semester last year and had to take another, advanced class for my major this semester. Doing well in it but it's just a pain in the butt. johnf
It's been almost 40 years and I can still remember conjugating the verb "to be" from 6th Grade English. We got in trouble for conjugating bad words in high school.
wildside
I enjoyed my English classes. I suppose it helped that I was on my high school newspaper staff and had plenty of opportunities to actually have fun with writing. Creative freedom can make all the difference! Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Just spent most of the last 3-4 hours trying to figure out a topic for my final research project. I ended up picking Edgar Allen Poe as the topic. This is the part I don't like about these classes. If I need to sit down and write about anything, a personal experience or something, I can throw out 2-4 pages no problem. But having to do research to write an essay, is something I just don't like. It cranks out alot of good scholarly journal articles that you can use for any research paper. I've used it alot for research papers i've had to write here at college...
