Gator
Anybody have any good calling tips for these buggers? I have a PRIMOS power crow call, but I just don't get any response.
Gator
Re: Crows Here's an update. Bought a Cass Creek Crow call at lunchtime. Little bit ago set it outside, within probably a minute had 2 crows come in. YEAH BABY!!!! Thought it wasn't gonna be loud enough, but looks like it will work! lil hunter
Re: Crows First of all, the Primos crow call is for locating turkeys, not calling crows. In my opinion(and several others) it sounds nothing at all like a crow. I've never heard of Cass Creek, so I can't say much about them. If your gonna do a lot of crow hunting, and all you have are handcalls, you need more than one good one. After an hour or two of calling, thats a lotta spit, and reeds will stick. I'd reccomend either a Lohman Gold Series crow call, or a H.S. Hammerin crow call. There are way better ones out there, but those are available at wal-mart type stores. If you wanna look at, and/or buy one or two good calls, check out www.crowbusters.com Read around in there also, to get some great tips for a beginner. Good luck. waterfowler_gal
Re: Crows I have used my Primos crow call to call crows in before... it sounds like a kazoo more than anything but it still works... just my opinion.

Guest Squirrelbuster
Re: Crows I like the Cass Creek call. I think it works great. I also like the Hammerin crow call (mentioned above). As far as the calls sounding like kazoos, when you are calling, growl in your throat as you are blowing air and it will make a more realistic crow sound. DSGB
Re: Crows I have the Hammerin' crow call and it works great. I've called in crows every time I've used it.
Jeramie
Re: Crows You dont get any response from the Primos?!?! Man I use that thing a ton and they flock me! Is it your calling perhaps? Seriously.... I can cover up with them in just a minute if I hit mine. Are you at all visible. Id look for something like that more then the call.....
