RangerClay
I splurged today and bought myself a Bitz Jig at BPS's. Hopefully this will solve my torn vanes problem. Now what do I need to get this thing working right? What is the best glue, vanes, whatever? Right now I am shooting 4" vanes that came with my arrows. Tom2008
The best glue that I have ever used is Goat Tuff. I really like the 2 inch blazer vanes. I've gotten exceptional broadhead flight and the durability of these vanes is amazing. I gained a little speed to because they weigh less than your normal 4 inch vanes. You can't get much of a helical out of these vanes though. I would suggest using the 3 inch Easton vanes if you like to have a helical on your arrow. If your shooting a whisker biscuit though I will suggest shooting the blazer vanes for sure.

Now what do I need to get this thing working right? What is the best glue, vanes, whatever? Right now I am shooting 4" vanes that came with my arrows. Congrats! That is the best jig too! I use AAE Speedset glue, a little expensive, but never had a vane come off yet! I like a glue that has a thicker viscosity, but not too thick! Just something that doesn't run real fast! If you like 4" vanes, then try the Bohning Killer vanes. But the Blazers work even better out of a WB rest! If your going with wraps, contact OneStringer, or visit his web site. www.onestringer.com You can pick what he has to offer or design your own, then send it in! Oh, and his prices are the best too!!! If your using the 4" vanes, the normal is 7" wraps. With the Blazers, a 4" wrap is what Bohning sells for their vanes. But OneStringer has them in any size you want! Don't forget to post some pics! Sounds like the Blazers are the way to go. I was really unsure about the glue. With about 10 to choose from I wasn't about to go eeny meeny. The pro staffer was to busy watching Roadtrips re-runs to help me. I asked him to make sure if I had a right helicle and he asked like I was disturbing him. Should I have gotton a stright helicle for the Blazers? MCH
I've got the Bitz with the right helical as well. Gander didn't have one in stock back then, so they gave me the one the bow tech was using. Just make sure that you dry fit the vane first. When I first started, I had a problem with the tips of my blazers not adhering.
wtnhunt
Congrat on the bitz Joe, you will be happy with it. There are a lot of good options out there. I use goat tuff glue or super glue gel and aae plastifletch vanes. With the goat tuff glue or super glue, you can get a vane on and move on to the next one pretty quick, really does not take long at all to refletch or do initial fletchings. One thing I am wishing I had is an arrow saw, probably will be the next archery related product I do buy.
HUNTINGMAN
Good choice of jigs,I use the gel glur.I cant think of the name of it but it is in a orange tube and is a gel,it sets up fast and holds strong. As for fletching, the blazers are all I could find that the WB rest dont tear up and they fly amazeingly and have improved my acuracy as well. wtnhunt
One thing I did not see mentioned Joe is that if you are using a wb rest and nocks that are not adjustable, you will need a tm nock receiver for the jig. If you did not get one and need one, cabelas does sell them.

Gluing a helical for Blazers just means you need to let the clamp sit longer in the jig. Its rather pointless since the vanes are only 2" long. I use a straight clamp for both vanes. I have my jig set for a 2-3 degree right offset. One thing I did not see mentioned Joe is that if you are using a wb rest and nocks that are not adjustable, you will need a tm nock receiver for the jig. If you did not get one and need one, cabelas does sell them. Definitely! This is almost a must have! This way your cock vane will be aligned with the nock! Unless you have nocks that can turn inside the shaft to adjust this! Personally, I don't know why Bitz just don't add this nock receiver instead of the plain one they do now! Without knowing your arrows Joe, I should have mentioned this earlier! Sorry!
RangerClay
Without knowing your arrows Joe, I should have mentioned this earlier! Sorry! Don't sweat it! Carbon Express does not glue in their nocks. I always turn them. Besides I shoot lighted nocks when hunting.
