Why, Why, Why!!!

Folks, no matter what your problems are, there are people all around you who are willing to help you through them. No matter what, nothing in this world should make you want to take your own life!:mad::(:(

I posted earlier in an old thread that I lost another friend. Well I deleted that post and started this new thread. I just found out earlier today, and I have been kind of bummed out all day. I had no idea how she passed away. Until a few minutes ago. Another friend (one of her best friends) informed me she committed suicide last week :(. It was a big shock to find out she was gone, and now this is just like an extra punch to the face. She left behind 2 kids and a husband. Greed...thats all I can think of to make someone want to do this. Leaving behind a 7 and 8 year old for what? because of a few problems (don't know exactly what the problem(s) were). Right now I am sick to my stomach. I tried to go to sleep but I don't see that happening. Please pray for her husband and 2 kids. They don't deserve this, neither did she.:(:(:(

I'm so sorry to hear that.

I wouldn't call it greed, so much as despair :( Yes, there is selfishness involved, when you are in despair, but it's hard to control. It's always hard for others to understand what could drive someone to do such a thing. May God forgive her, and give her rest. :( and may the Lord be with those who loved her, that she left behind.

........I am so sorry!...this is a terrible tragedy- I know you hurt....and everyone that is close to her....and: her children...

-but- Buckee Steve has gently, eloquently and accurately laid the appropriate words on her memory,as to where your beautiful friend perhaps felt she was driven....

-unless you have been there, it is hard to fathom- it doesn't seem fair- ...but , Michiganbowhunter...you have done a world of good, most definitely seven -fold...by what you expressed to everyone in the very first sentence of your post-....

-and...you are very right...

-I pray for your pain and understanding...

-I SO wish this hadn't of happened...

Prayers on the way Q2.

As far as I'm concerned, there's no excuse for suicide and to leave 2 children behind as well?? Just terrible.

i disagree. sorry. this is a depression (mental) problem that is actually pretty common. normally, these folks would not do anything like that. but, they have bad days, and must. this is a sickness, but treatable. we all need to be aware of the signs that a suicide is coming. and, the fact is, most actually announce their intentions to friends, who think it is not real and don't listen. listen up folks! if you know anyone bi-polar, pay REAL CLOSE attention. :o

The big problem is the people who are in this situation, don't realize it at all! They have severe mental problems and most of the people around them don't understand it or they ignore it!

I have seen this a few times in my life and have been in after the fact when they have killed themselves!

I have also seen where doctors have missed and the people commit suicide!

For a person who does not have any mental problems or have never been around people who do, you will not understand how bad it really is! It is very easy to say "how can anyone do this"! It will happen and people need help, lots of it!

Steve hit the nail on the head. What I am about to say may come as a surprise to some, may not. I WAS there, the despair, the depression, the guilt, the loneliness, it ALMOST took a toll on me. I ALWAYS thought I was stronger than what I was, only to find out that I'm wasn't. Yes, I went on antidepressants for awhile, and quit them without going to a doctor, BAD BAD mistake, that seemed like it made it worse. My family doesn't even know I went on them, and until now, only a select few of my friends even did. Yes, I know some of ya'll may think that suicide is an easy way out, but to some, they may see it as there ONLY way out, the pain just becomes to much to take. There are a select few that I will forever be indebted to. Believe it or not, unlike some folks, I didn't turn to alcohol, as I knew that could possibly make it even worse. It has been almost a year since I moved out, and I still am on an emotional rollercoaster, some days are REALLY good, some days are so so, but I am getting a little better. Fortunately for me, I KNEW I was in this situation, and I did what I had to do to get through the worst of it. If only I could rid of the hatred I feel, I will be okay, but I know that feeling will probably NEVER go away, I just hope it goes into hibernation.

I had a childhood friend that committed suicide. The kid at age 16 had a succesfull tile business and made more money that some adults. Why all because the kids at school called him a NARC. I really wish I had still lived there so I could defend him.

I'm really sorry for your loss, and for her kids and husband.

Like some of the others have said...it's something you'll never understand unless you've been there. The short version, it sucks. I am very lucky to be here, and it is only because God brought several very special people into my life who helped/help me through the rough times.

People, whatever you do, make sure that you tell those you love that you love them, and make sure that they know it well. Alot of what kept me alive was simply knowing that a few of my best friends would miss me very much, and that it would hurt them alot.

There is something else I wanted to add to this after giving it some thought. Sometimes when you are in that position you REALLY don't want your friends to know, you don't want to look "weak" in their eyes, so you hold it all in. You feel like you are just burdening them with your problems, and you're to embarrassed to tell them as well. People will tell you to stay busy to keep your mind off of things, well, that doesn't work all the time either, eventually you have to stop doing whatever it is, and then all those feelings and thoughts come back. And there you are, all alone again, you can't sleep, you just lay there thinking WHY???? What went wrong???? You withdraw from EVERYTHING.

No, I am not looking for sympathy or anything like that. I just want people to understand what goes through someones mind when they ARE in a depressed state such as this

No need to say sorry. Didn't expect everyone to agree. :o

I agree that there are such things as bi-polar and "addictions", but I also believe there are things called "choices". And to me there is no excuse or disease that can justify making the choice to commit suicide.

i'm sure glad for you and your friends, grant. and happy that you got your troubles figured out. i think the world is a better place with you.;):). it's really sad when we lose good people due to a temporary illness or lapse of judgment.
