bluelund79
Maybe it will go up, maybe it won't. If you and the other party are happy, then a good choice was made....It is hard to aprt with a firearm, my collection will only grow for now, I can't see getting rid of any of mine anytime soon. Especially since my wife decided she wants to go to hunter safety and start bird hunting with me....Plus, my son is only getting bigger and he can just use mine down the road when he gets old enough to hunt with me. Sounds like you both made out in the end....
coles
well i have had it for probably 8 or 9 years and no one has really shot it for probably 4 or 5 years. i thought about saving it for my kids some day but i have other rifles for that. i mean my little marlin single shot that my dad got me when i was 7 is now my lil sisters until she grows out of it. then it will stay with me until i have a kid and they are old enough. i just dont want to be one of those guys that i always see a gun and say "i used to have one of these, i should have never gotten rid of it." snapper
i just dont want to be one of those guys that i always see a gun and say "i used to have one of these, i should have never gotten rid of it." Got a feeling you'll be saying that some day over that 9422. But hey, if your happy now and the person who bought it is happy...then its a good deal. Some folks don't have "safe queens" and others do...if you do not, then you prob. made a good deal.
aksheephuntress
...all I have to say is...Oh, My.... -but- really; your situation is yours....another can not really judge...if you think it went to a good home- and if you are not into collecting... -the Value of a Gun is a complicated thing......... aksheephuntress
Coles...QUESTION....What was the barrel length of that rifle?...and what condition??....and...how did you determine the blue book value of it...did someone tell you...or- -just curious...didn't mean to judge you on your sale... -but- REALLY curious on the barrel length... -Thanks-
coles
it was the 16 or 16 1/2 inch barrel. the trapper model. and it was in really good condition. one of the guys i worked with in the gun department at a sporting goods store knows everything about guns and i asked him waht i should ask for it. and this sounds bad but it wasnt one of those guns that has alot of sentimental value. since my siblings and i all got bigger we kinda out grew it and my lil sis is the only one that could have shot it. but i dont think she would have been able to operate it very well and she does fine with my lil single shot marlin. teaches her to make her shots count too. aksheephuntress
....if it was in really good condition like you say....it could have brought a lot more, if I'm not mistaken... -I don't know...but-I would have held on to it, if I were you...I have one....where/how exactly did your friend obtain the blue book value on it?(just wondering...) coles
we had a blue book for guns at work. he is very knowledgeable about guns so i trusted him. and if all else fails and i want it back, the guy i sold it to told me to just let him know if i wanted it back. so i guess i always have that route to go. aksheephuntress
...I just don't know... -I'm probably mistaken...(sorry-not trying to second guess your friend!!...) -and...I want you to know that I am not a real total-educated gun afficianado like some of the long-term guys on here are.... -I just love guns!....and once I have one..am hard-pressed to let go of it...for various reasons.... -don't really know why- -but...you probably dollar-for-dollar ,made out alright... -neat model...
