Getting out of the truck this morning it felt more like duck season than turkey season. It was about 32 F and i could tell as me and my dad walked to where we were going to listen. As we got there we heard a gobble a long way off. After a few mins a few more turkeys started gobbling back towards the truck where our buddy was. After calling him on the radio he said there where a couple turkeys not far from him gobblin on the rooste and that he was gonna see what he could do. Long story short me and dad didnt hear anything close and just sat down and called until 11:30 with only a hen answering back. We decided to go to another track due to the fact that turkeys stopped gobblin.

Once there me and dad had about a mile walk from the truck to get where we were going. Once there we had a nice green food plot to set up in to wait on a gobbler. We heard nothing until about 3:45 when a hen yelped about 50 yards in the swamp to our left. I yelped back and within 2 mins two hens where out the the food plot messin around, once of which had a beard. About five minutes into the entertainment from the hens we hear a bird gobble about 300 yards into the swamp where the hens came from. we called and he answered and whenin 10 mins was coming into the flood plot. Once he got about 30 yards i put the hammer down.

9 1/2 beard

1.25 spurs

20 lbs
