Backyard buck

Hey guys and gals I need help with two things... First things first, I have photos of two deer taken 1 year apart both within a mile or so. I have spent hours looking at the 30 photos I have of both deer and there are a couple of things they both have in common. Im not sure if a deer that has a non-typical rack one year can have a typical rack the next. Im thinking that the abnormality of the right side could have been caused by the wound on his back left leg( you can see it in the photos) and both deer have it. I have read that that can cause a non typical rack. Both of the photos are taken in a big city where there is no hunting so Im glad to say I may get many more photos in the years to come. Let me know if you think I have two big boys running around or if you think im correct and they are the same deer. Also how big do you think he would score... Looks to me like he's a main framed 11 with a small kicker off his left g-3 to make him a 12 pointer. Im not sure how he'd score so if you could help me out that would be great.....Thanks

That top deer is exceptional. I'd guess 170 or so.

It sure looks like the same deer, either that or those two deer have a remarkably similar injury on the exact same place on the exact same leg.

Same deer to me. Unfortunately, it looks as if he's past his prime. Maybe it's a nutritional thing and that injury is hampering his ability to grow another Booner rack.

Welcome to the forums.

That deer in the first couple pics assuming it is the same deer is a great deer. Too bad there is no hunting in the city limits. Some cities will give bow permits for hunting inside the city limits. If I had to guess a score, would guesstimate in the mid 160's.

I agree!!! What a buck....to bad about the injury. If you can't hunt him I would be searching like mad for his sheds

thanks

Hey guys... Thanks for all your input. I have spent hours and hours looking for this guy's sheds as well as the 8 or 9 other bucks I have photos of in the area but its hard because there are so many small stretches of trees that cut through peoples yards and no need to make anyone mad. Ive tried to get permission to hunt within the city but it seems the people I need to get the permission from are all anti hunters. I know of hunts that go on within city limits done by small goups of hunters but they are in parks that im not interested in hunting. I will continue my search but my gut tells me someone beat me to them, thats the problem with public land in a big city. Thanks again and fall can't come soon enough- dan

The white patch under the chin appears the same on both deer (hard to say for sure with the angles on the pictures). I'd say there is a good chance it is the same deer.

I'd also say the top deer would gross about 160 and the bottom pictures appear to be a little less.

What do you mean you con not hunt withen the city limits. They do not allow Bow hunting. Or you do not bow hunt.

I know that here in NY some areas that are cities and close to them are closed to hunting with either firearms or archery equipment. The biggest buck my dad has seen in his life was running across the road in front of an autoshop, late one night.
