Tominator
A middle school teacher here in a local town has had a bible on his desk for 22 years. This teacher has never preached during class or anything like that, I guess he just has it on his desk to read during his free time or whatever. In the news yesterday, apparently, out of the blue, his principal ordered him to put the bible out of sight, and this teacher has refused to do so. Lawsuit by the teacher is pending. http://www.10tv.com/live/content/local/stories/2008/04/17/bible_teacher.html?sid=102 http://www.bucyrustelegraphforum.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080418/NEWS01/804180304/1002

cinch314
Way to to Teacher!!!!!!! It's sad today when people are being told to hide their religious beliefs because others might get offended. What happened to the Freedom of Religion or the Freedom of Speech. Heck, you can get sued by somebody if they ask for your help and you say turn to God for answers. Saddening, really saddening. I applaud this teacher for standing up for what he believes in.
Hoosierbuck
And the administration wants it hidden from the students so they can "be responsive to parents" who have complained. What a bunch of spineless freaks. No wonder our country is suffering from moral decay. One parent complains in 15 years and THAT person's complaint has to hold sway over the situation?? What about the thousands of parents who's kids went through his classes and did not complain, or supported the values imparted by this gentleman? They don't count, I guess. Why are people so afraid to do the right thing? Kinda chaps my hide, if you want to know the truth. My prayer is that I don't fail to be a witness when my time comes. buckee
I guess any students or teachers wearing a cross, would have to take it off, while attending class also. It's a sad world we live in today. Then shouldn't these be removed from the walls and teaching books too ????
