Strut10
It's kid's spring gobbler day!! My boy (10 years old) gets first shift today. His older sister got to go early last year. So she get late morning shift this year. Heard some birds gobbling from the front porch yesterday morning (jakes I think). We'll probably set out after them first thing. The boy needs to get to see some feathers standing in front of that 870.
Nut
I'm with you on this Strut about it being the biggest day of the year. I will be going out with my 17 year old son in the morning. He is wanting to go away from the house just to hunt some other areas first before chasing the home gobblers.(They have been quiet the last 2 mornings anyways). So it is off to bed in a few. Strut10
Well? That was one heck of a morning....and I know they were hammering off the roost last night. Had 3 jakes come running in on me & the boy so fast we weren't ready for them and they busted us. Me & the daughter went out at 9:30 and saw one huge hen. The boys had lockjaw.
