DU_man_84 Posted April 19, 2008 Report Share Posted April 19, 2008 well let me say first the power test went fine for me this morning, but there are a few things i got rant and rave about, first off this power test unlike the others was a joke, normally a company comes in to adminster the test, well county board members themselves administered this one, the rules just kept bending it was pathetic, first 20 guys came to the test, first started with the bench, .98 percent body weight, your suppose to get a second attempt if ya cant do well this test you get three attempts, 4 guys finally passed on there 3rd attempt, they should not have had a 3rd attempt, they shoulda been weeded out, but no, sit ups were fine, sit and reach, people bending their knees to reach their measurement, 2 should have been weeded out their, 1.5 mile only 2 failed it, so total people should have not passed test 6 due to rule bending, should have been 12 of us that passed instead of the 18 that passed, and to top it off right before the 1.5 mile, since the our county sheriffs office is in my local town, they asked who took the local pd test last month me and 2 other guys did, they told us one kid couldnt make it and opted to use his power test score from the local pd, and said we could have just used our test scores from that test, and not even have to run the 1.5 mile, all three of us said, we were gonna run it were not gonna cheat our way out of a test, and the kid that decided not to be their just didnt want to be their he wasnt anywhere he is just lazy, let me tell ya he is a real peice of work, hes not the kinda person you want protecting your society, nobody likes him, so yeah im a little ticked off right now, and i know the lasalle county sheriff personal, im gonna have a talk with him and see what i can do about this kid, if i gotta be there he should have to be there, no ifs ands or buts Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

dartonman Posted April 20, 2008 Report Share Posted April 20, 2008 Keep the chin up, and the comments inside buddy....I worked for Ogle County Sheriffs Department 15 years...politics are politics...the ones that didn't get weeded out will fail the mental tests, or polygraph or personal interview.....they always do...and if they make the cut, they will use the Sheriffs Department as a stepping stone, get the PTI and go to the local PD's for more money.....happens all the time...stay determined, and focused....you stay number 1 in your game, and only YOUR GAME...let the others fail..........its dog eat dog in law enforcement testing...remain positive, and stay focused on YOUR GOAL...not the rule benders or the name droppers....I have seen them all............al Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
