Well as you probably know every gun shoots differently, but you cant go wrong with a few brands. Winchester supreme would be my favorite factory load right now. Theres the remington hevishot which i havent tried and what i hear is best is the Nitro hevishot....i've seen some targets that stuff is amazing.

I think Winchester Supreme High Velocity

's are the best you can get for a 12 ga.

More often than not, the Supreme's end up being the best patterning shell in most any gun. It is the first shell I try when patterning a gun.

20 ga is Remington Hevi shot no doubt. Just look at the NWTF still staget competitions. Winchester won all the 12 and Hevi shot the 20

Hard to argue with results.

Re: Best turkey ammunition?

I'll agree that every gun shoots differently. Try a variety of makes and shot sizes. I shoot Winchester HV Supreme 3 1/2" 5 shot in my Mossberg 835 with a MADD Max choke. Has anyone tried the new Winchester Xtended Range loads yets?? At $24.00 for a box of 3 1/2's they better be GOOD!!

Nitro custom hevi shot -shells. At five dollars a shot they are not for everyone but they sure do work! cool.gif

268 pellets in a 10" circle at a measured 40 yards out of the recommended Rhino choke.

Re: Best turkey ammunition?

Hey 404 or should I call you Mossberg Man like on the Total Sportsman forums. Nitro shells can sure do the job with that coated #7 shot!! They claim that #7 Hevishot hits as hard as a #6 - #5 lead pellet!!

So by #7 shot being smaller, yes they do cover a bigger part of the pattern, but at the very same time, they hit like a ton of bricks!! I hope that this answers you question for the second time!!!
