dbHunterNY
I don't know how many of you practice at 60 yards or more, but the past few days I've been shooting at a Block target set out at 60 yards and hitting 6 inch groups every time. Well just this morning my peep site came out of the split string! I couldn't figure out how it happened. It was tied well and tight so I thought (didn't do it myself). I just about died when I saw the rubber tubing hanging. The peep is back in and hopefully tomorrow I'll get things sited back in and dead on again. Just felt like tossing this up in the forum. If anyone else has had something similar to this happen, then I feel your pain. LOL - Dan
LifeNRA
Once I know I am shooting good at the other ranges, I set it out at 50 yards. I don't even bother going any farther. I hit the three inch circle with two arrows last year, in two shots! I was tickled. But I don't shoot at deer at that range.
Bowtech_archer07
The farthest I shoot with a bow is 40 yards, and i'll shoot at a deer at that range. I know my bow is capable of harvesting a deer at that distance and I feel comfortable taking shots that long and i'm confident that i'll make a clean, ethical harvest. Leo
Better check your string over REAL good. You may have busted a strand and that popped the peep out!
dbHunterNY
Thanks for the feedback guys. I just felt like posting the thread, but for no particular reason. I've checked my string and what not. Everything seems to be good. I know after looking at it, that the peep was tied in somewhat loose. That's all I know. Today it's fixed and my bow is sighted back in; 4 inch groups at 60 yrds. I plan on taking a deer at no longer than 40 yrds under the right conditions, however I like to know I'm proficient well beyond what I set my limit at for taking deer. That's only why I'm shooting that far. - Dan

wtnhunt
Occasionally shoot long distances during practice session, and have had my peep come out before too. Once had a peep actually break somehow at the point where it connects to the rubber tubing, not sure how it happened.
