They Call Me The Executioner

Well it all started with a phone conversation with my buddy down south of us, i told him our birds up here are all jacked up and he told me to come down to his place. It all sounded good but it was a 2.5 hour drive but the thought of birds was on my mind. He said they had seen them everyday in pretty much the same spot. He would direct me to where he thought they where roosted the next morning.

I showed up and he helped me get the blind all set up "for a bow kill" then he split. About 6 oclock he was stretchin his pipes about 75 yards in front of me. My buddy said he was prob on an old road that ran through, well he was right. When the sky started to light up i could see a road leading right to where he was soundin off.

He and 2 jakes flew down and strutted around in front for about 20 min showing absolutly no interest. They where abut 60 yards out and closing then they hung up again. I switched from a guillotine to a rage thinking i would have to poke him at 40. He started to walk off fan up almost like he was teasing me. When i thought it was over and he was out of sight i slipped out of the blind and to my suprise could see his fan about 100 yards up the road. He was walking dead away from me and i was trying to put a plan together quick.

So i dropped off the ridge and paralleled him till i thought i was far enough. I slipped back up the ridge and checked it out and didnt see anything. I set up behind a big ol' oak and waited for a bit. After 10 min or so i was about ready to get up thinking he had moved on, when i heard a drum from what seemed to be in the woods. I yelped and heard him spit again then i saw him coming around the bend in the road. As he walk towards me he picked up his pace and started to putt and run at me. As he closed the distance quick almost as if something was chasing him or startled him he got to about 20. I couldnt get drawn back with him at 20 looking right at me so i cut hard and yelp and he bowed up imediatly. As he did a 360 dance i pulled back with him turned around. When he straightened up to me i cut hard and he stuck his head up, thats when the exicutioner released the ax. A 4 in Gobbler Guillotine sent straight to the ol red head. Caught him clean and he was down for the count, not even a twich ive never had a bird go down so clean. If i was shooting a broadhead i would have missed. i actually hit him with about an inch of one blade right under the chin, lucky me.

He had a 11 inch paint brush, 1.25 and 1 inch spurs weight 18 lbs.

Not bad for a public lander and an eastern also not bad for oklahoma.

Didnt get it all the way off actually caught him right under the chin, good thing i had a 4 inch cut. you can see i didnt even hit him square enough to nock the straws off. I hit him with the blade pointed down you can see its bent just a bit.

yes ive tried them with ecery type of straw and even with out, they are a must for my set up. I am accurate out to 30 with a pretty arc no side to side.
