Smack Off

I can only take so much of Rome.

It has to come in bits and pieces. Between the long pauses, the sometimes funny sometimes annoyingly smug "SoCal" presentation and dialect, it can get old.

some probably say the same about the muggs ramble we get all the time:eek::p:D

But instead of "SoCal" enter Cleveland sports team:rolleyes::D:D:D

I'd rather listen to Muggs for days and days than listen to Jim Rome for 5 minutes ;):p:D

Jim Rome will harp and harp on the bad attributes of a athlete/person and just run them into the ground

I think that is sports radio in general. Besides I dont think constantly hearing about 2002 and Fausto would be good sports radio.:D

I listen to him every now and then, like muggs I can only take so much of Rome. Sometimes the guy contradicts himself. One week a guy can do no wrong then a month later that guy gets blasted.

Easy to sit back and belittle someone or kiss their butt while talking with them when the guy has never laced up and got involved in the sports he talks about.

This is the most entertaining room on these herer forums, largely due in part, to yours truly.;):D

Anyway, good point Chris. Romey used to really dog Nascar, then it started getting more air time on the major networks like ESPN (which he's also an employee of) and he changed his tune really quick.

That said, he'll still talk hockey, which is more than you can say for the majority of sport talk show hosts who just dismiss it because they don't know anything about it and don't want to take the effort to learn it. What a cop out.

Well, you're right on the money there.

You know, if it weren't for the clowns, not many people would visit the circus.;)

Exactly. I'll clown around any time for a laugh- better than taking myself way too seriously, ya know.;) You can get high blood pressure doing stuff like that.

I was never a big fan of the smackoff. I like Romes show but not so much the smackoff. I won't be listening to him anymore anyway since I'm on nightshift. I used to listen during the day at my old job, but now I spend my days at home and I sure as heck wont be sitting around listening to the radio.

Anyway, back to the original topic......muggs is a DB......Chris is too.
