rhine16
Smoltzy just struck out his 3,000th batter!!!! Quite an accomplishment seeing that only 15 others have done it! Add that to his 210 wins and his 154 saves!!!! Congratulations Smoltzy!!
toddyboman
Smoltz has been a dominant pitcher but:).....I hope he thanked all those umps that gave him that foot off the plate strike that he received for YEARS!!!
muggs
Put him in the Hall. I still can't believe the Braves used to roll out a rotation of Smoltz, Glavine, and Maddux. All three don't get the credit they deserve, but I think people will be talking about those Braves rotations of the '90's for a while. That was definatly the best rotation I have ever seen and probably ever will see. Congrats to Smoltz.

Even Avery, Neagle, Mercker and Millwood were exception 4 and 5 starters in their time.
MCH
Since I'm biased, , I wouldn't say they were the best rotation ever, but they're definite top 3 material. Best rotation in the past two decades, however.
buckbuster11
And somebody here told me I picked Smoltz to high in the draft. Yeah, because a 0.54 ERA and back to back 10 K performances is washed up. Congrats to Smoltz. One of the best starters of his era, and one of the best relievers also. Not sure anybody else in baseball can say that.
